Livorno will be playing in Serie A again next season after defeating Brescia in the Serie B Play-off Final.

The Amaranto were relegated from Serie A in 2007-08 and have gained promotion at the first attempt.

Goals from Francesco Tavano, Alessandro Diamanti and Martin Bergvold were enough to see Livorno win 3-0 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate.

Francesco Tavano opened the scoring just after half time to give Livorno the lead. Alessandro Diamanti then doubled the Amaranto's lead on the hour mark.

Martin Bergvold all but sealed the result when he made it 3-0 with 15 minutes to go.

Livorno will join Bari and Parma who secured automatic promotion to Serie A. Earning promotion to Serie A is worth £20m and sponsorship revenue increases sixfold.
